Father's Day Love

Good Evening Beautiful Beings,

Welcome back to "Tina Talks Tuesday". I hope this finds you warm, well, and outside enjoying this beautiful weather we are having here in the finger lakes.

Today's blog is a piggyback off of my lovely daughters post from a few weeks ago for Mother's day.  As most of you probably know Father's Day is approaching this Sunday, June 17th. If you are a father figure reading this, thank you for being present and making a difference in somebody's life. If you are reading this and you have a male figure in your life, whether it be your dad, grandfather, uncle, coach, friend, etc., be sure to tell him how much he means to you, and spend some quality time with him!

As Kyra mentioned in her blog post you don't have to stress about what to buy him, instead go out and do something with him that you both love! You could go to a local car show, go fishing, go for a hike, cook him a homemade meal, or a sweet treat...they say "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach!" ;) The possibilities are endless!

He will value the time spent with you more than any material item! Enjoy this upcoming Father's day celebrating with that special guy who inspires and motivates you!

Happy Father's Day to all the great guys out there! Sending you all love, relaxation, and day filled with all the joy you deserve!

The Blue Zone Project

Hello Beautiful Being,

Welcome back to Tina Talks Tuesday, it's always great to see you here and I'm always grateful to be here! I hope you have been enjoying Mother Natures gifts of vibrant flowers, warm rays, and fresh air...ahhhh!

I was intrigued and inspired a few weeks ago at a networking event on "The Blue Zone Project". As I mingled, thought to myself, soaked in the concepts, and sipped my red wine I kept getting the same message, "SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN"! So that is what I am here to do today.

So what's this about?

"The Blue Zones Project is inspired by Dan Buettner, a National Geographic fellow and New York Times best-selling author who identified five regions of the world — Blue Zones — with the highest concentration of people living to 100 years or older.
They include Loma Linda, California; Nicoya, Costa Rica; Sardinia, Italy; Ikaria, Greece; and Okinawa, Japan.
The Blue Zones Project uses information collected from these regions to help transform communities into thriving places to live, work, eat and play. Blue Zones staff works with communities to help them improve everything from work sites to parks to stores to streets to schools, all to promote the highest level of health and well-being." -MPNnow

I found it to be very exciting that Ontario "county could be first spot in the Northeast to employ the secrets of living longer." If this sparks a flame inside of you click on the blog title to read more, and find ways that you could help support and/or spread the word. ( it's as easy as sharing this blog link ;)

As always I love hearing from you with suggestions, experiences, comments, and hellos...they are always welcomed and highly favored! Thank you for visiting, Namaste!

Mother's Day Love: Ft. Guest Blogger

DAILY REMINDER: GIVE SOMEONE A FREE HUG TODAY!

Hello American muscle community, it’s Sparkling Kyra! Surprise! If you don’t already know, I am Tina’s eldest daughter. As you all know (hopefully), Mother’s Day is approaching this Sunday! Many times, people worry about what they should buy their moms for this holiday. This year, rather than buying your mom a gift, I would like to encourage you all to go out and do something with her that you both love! You could go to the lake, go hiking, take her out to eat, go to painting class, or go to a cooking class together. The possibilities are endless! I think that spending time with your mom is the best gift that you can give her. I truly appreciate the time I spend with my mom, especially after being away from her while I was in Florida for the past 8 months. One of my mom’s presents from me this Mother’s Day is writing her blog tonight. Instead of working on Tina Talks, she will be able to watch a movie with our family tonight!

This Mother’s Day, be sure to tell your mom how much she means to you, and spend some quality time with her! I’m sure she will value the time spent with you more than any material item! And if you don’t have a mom, spend time with someone who inspires and motivates you! Remember: Mother’s Day is a holiday to celebrate with any positive female figure in your life, not just your mom! To all the moms and strong women reading this blog, I hope you take time this week to spend time with the women in your life that you love and cherish!💓

"Less Texting. More Living."

Hello there Beautiful Beings,

Wonderful to see you here once again, I hope life is treating you well!

Inspiration is all around if you take the time to look. For me inspiration presents in many ways everyday by multiple things. Such as: Reading an article. Watching the sunset. Waking up in a cozy, warm bed. Hearing kids voices. Getting a hand written "loving reminder" note. And, many many other simple, yet wondrous happenings buzzing around me.

A month or so back, while sitting in a waiting room I made the concession decision to leave my phone in my purse and spark up a conversation with a simple smile and hello to the woman sitting next to me. We ended up having such a nice chat that still sticks with me, and it really did make my day much brighter. After that encounter I made a pledge with myself that from now on, while in waiting rooms, standing in a line, etc. I will always try to make this same choice and see where it takes me.

I have attached an article that goes along with this concept of "being present" , that also inspired me, and I hope it will speak to you or maybe someone you know as well! (click post title)

Hey there Beautiful Beings,

I hope this finds you well, it's great to be back, but it was also nice to be busy with family travels over the past month. The wind blew me to New Orleans on a College visit with my eldest daughter, to New York City for a surprise birthday getaway, and a long spring break weekend to VA Beach with the kiddos and my niece & nephew...phew...I may be ready for one more vacation, in my bed! ;) Honestly, I'm glad to be back and consider this life "too blessed to be stressed!"

Okay, now that you know where I have been...lets get to "Tina Talks Tuesday" guest blogger:

The Universe

Hello there Beautiful Beings,

I hope tonight's "Tina Talks Tuesday" finds you warm and well! <3 The Universe sent me an email today, yes you heard me, an email, lol...and I want to forward it to all of you. :)

  The email goes like this:

"Aha! Do you know what your thoughts did last week?!
They became the things and events of this week. The things you thought would be difficult became difficult; easy became easy; boring became boring; and fun became fun. Where you thought there might be surprises, you were surprised. And where you thought there might be land mines, there were land mines.
Bravo! You can add this week to the list of your most creative accomplishments.
Now, can you guess what your thoughts this week are going to do?
You are awesome,  The Universe"

I hope this speaks to you as deeply as it did to me. Keep the good vibes flowin, creativity growin, and unconditional love glowin'!!!  As always, comments, suggestions, thoughts, and howdy's are always welcome & highly favored! One Love.

30 Min. Healthy Meal

Hello there Beautiful Beings,

I hope you all are wonderful, wealthy and well! I like to think that health equals wealth, which leads me to tonight's blog topic  in which I will share a simple saucy recipe.

This is a weekly staple in our household for the simple fact that it's quick, healthy, and liked by most of the kids. ;)  (If need be puree/hide the veggies  into the sauce) Also, in my opinion it has an added bonus of being vegan and gluten free...yippee!!! Below I will post a "generic" recipe, meaning it can be tweaked to your liking with your fav brands.

Gluten -Free Vegan-Sauce Capellini
  • 1 box~ Jovial Capellini, Brown Rice, Gluten Free, 100% Organic Whole Grain (this is our personal fav)
  • enough to saute with~ Healthy oil of choice (EVOO, grape seed, avocado)  or Vegetable broth
  • 3-5 cups of chopped fresh veggies~ I typically use mushrooms, spinach, peppers. onions. garlic, tomatoes
  • Optional "beefless ground" ~ when we do opt for this we like "Gardein" brand (however, I try to limit soy products, this is one)
  • 2 jars organic sauce of choice~ we like Wegmans brand "Grandma's Pomodoro Sauce" or Aldi's brand tomato basil
  • Optional Hemp seeds to "sprinkle" (or a handful) on top (protein)
  • Optional Nutritional Yeast (vegan parm cheese) to sprinkle on top (no handfuls here)
Okay I think that's it. Just cook pasta per package directions. Saute all veggies until tender, then add sauce, and simmer 15 min...stirring occasionally. Serve sauce over pasta, garnished with seeds and "vegan parm", and we like to have Wegmans Organic Rosemary fresh baked sourdough bread with Earth-balance organic spread. Nom-Nom...Enjoy! <3

Thanks for visiting today, please give this a try and drop a comment, recipe, review, topic, or simple howdy below. As always all are welcomed & highly favored~ One Love! Until next time..."Pasta La Vista Baby"!

Awakening

Good evening lovely beings,

I hope you all are having a fabulous February thus far, and are surrounded by love and more love!

A beautiful Poem was shared with me recently so I thought I would spread the inspiration and love!  "Poetry is finer and more Philosophical than History; for Poetry expresses the Universal, and History only the Particular." ~Aristotel

Awakening
By Krista Rodzinka

The little maple seed fluttered helplessly to the ground,
Carried by the strong and unyielding wind,
Flowing gracefully in the direction of gravity’s course,
Taking root amongst gravel and stone.
Continue.
Plunge your roots deep into the rocky soil.
Grow and stretch until you reach the fertile ground.
Soak in the sun and feed your soul, sprouting and spreading your tender leaves.
Make your trunk sturdy and strong, able to bend, not break.
Continue.
Let your rough skin shimmer in the glow of the harvest moon.
Let the rains cleanse your spirit.
Let your leaves wave a gentle hello to all who pass.
Let life flow through your veins.
Continue.

Thank you Krista, your passion, pureness, and beauty is inspirational and admirable! Hopefully this and all the beauty in each day will spark something inside of you, like this poem did for me. Happy "LOVE" day tomorrow and every day after that!!!

Rare Super Blue Blood Moon

Good Evening Beautiful Beings,

Welcome to "Tina Talks Tuesday", I hope this finds you wonderful, warm, and well! <3  One of the many glorious natural sights we are blessed with on this planet is our moon, and we are in for a treat tonight/tomorrow early morning.  "It's being referred to by the likes of NASA as a lunar trifecta, 150-years in the making."

So...

"Set your alarm clock – early Wednesday morning, there's a lunar event that hasn't been seen since 1866.
And it'll be at least partially visible in all 50 U.S. states – though the views will get better and better the farther west you live.
Let's break this down. This event – called a super blue blood moon – is actually three fairly common lunar happenings all happening at the same time.
And scientists say that information gathered during the event could help them figure out where to land a rover on the moon." -NPR/ Merrit Kennedy

Cabin Fever

Hello Beautiful Beings,

Welcome back to "Tina Talks "every other" Tuesday", as some of you may have noticed I was not here last week. As I mentioned in my previous blog post I like to take a look back into time and shift things around if it feels right in this moment, and well "Tina Talks Twice a month on Tuesday" sounded right where I needed to be in 2018. :D What do you think!?!? So as of now I will be visiting you lovely souls every other week and look forward to it, as I always do! <3

Now, if any of you are anything like me, you may be experiencing a bit of cabin fever. With the frigid temps of Upstate NY, it takes a brave soul to face Mother Nature, and I'm the first to admit that that's not me. However, it looks as though we are heading into a heat wave with temps soaring into the high twenty's and low thirty's, oh yeah!!!

I encourage the not so brave (like myself), and the brave to get up & out, whether it be a brisk winter walk, scenic sight seeing drive, or cross country ski across a frozen glistening lake. It can be soul soothing, and work magic on those winter blues! Look into local shops/community resources that may offer snow shoeing, skating, and/or ski rentals for a fun family/friend outings. Bring along a warming beverage, cozy clothing, and a smile to share!

"With its glittering lakes, rolling hills and acres of woodlands, Ontario County is a jeweled outdoor playground. While it’s tempting to hibernate inside and scowl at the cold during winter’s snowy weather, wouldn’t you rather spend the season energized, healthy and happy? Make this the year you get outside and get in on the action." ~FingerLakes.com

Click on the blog title to be taken to Finger Lakes website where you will find a plethora of information and suggestions for fun activities to do. Mother Nature invites you to come out and play no matter what the meteorologist has to say! Positive Pet Presents

Good Evening Beautiful Beings,

Welcome back to "Tina Talks Tuesday", as always I send you warm wishes!

What is your wish this holiday season? Whatever it may be, may it come true for you. <3

        Which brings me to share with you a popular children's wish, and why parents/caregivers should give great consideration in granting it. If you haven't already guessed it from the blog title...it's a family pet! Pets are wonderful for many reasons, and if you are a pet owner then you know what I am talking about, and can most likely relate to the list below;

  • Caring for a Family Pet can help teach responsibility
  • Helps children learn respect & empathy for others.
  • Pets can be a wonderful stress/anxiety reducer
  • Children with pets are less likely to become ill
  • Pets can boost self-esteem
  • And last but not least, pets can bring families together! <3

Whatever your reason may be to bring a little animal life into your world, I'm sure it will bring nothing but positive vibes, and loving energy! May this Holiday Season do the same...bring you and your loved ones nothing but good tidings of comfort and joy!

Comments, suggestions, well wishes, Pet Photos, and simple Hellos are always welcomed and highly favored! Happy Holidays <3 Enjoy <3 Stay Warm & Well <3 Peace

Greetings Beautiful Beings,

Welcome to "Tina Talks Tuesday", I hope this weeks blog finds you merry and bright! With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season among us, this is a kind reminder to keep being your amazing self and continue  "random acts of kindness", giving to those less fortunate, and to count your blessings throughout your day! <3

So today I simply encourage you to enrich someone else's life! I am providing a local suggestion and a place to start below, and will be making a donation myself as soon as I upload this blog. :)

My dear friend Dana, has a dear friend Liz, who could use some love, prayers, good vibes, donations, support, etc. I had the pleasure of meeting Liz a while ago, she is a pure, beautiful soul, who shines bright inside and out, with a lovely little family . Below I will quote a little bit about her journey...

"Our sweet friend, family, co worker and healer, Liz Hedger, needs some healing herself. Most of you know that she was diagnosed with a brain tumor just before giving birth to her second child late last year. Her tumor has hemmoraged and her family needs our support."

"'Tis the season! If there was ever a family deserving of your love and support this Holiday Season it's this one. Please consider helping a local Canandaiguaian!!!! Pretty, pretty please with a cherry on top! 🍰💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜" ~Dana Rae

Corporate gifts, photo engraving/laser cutting." This shop is adorable, and never fails to impress! The personalized items I have purchased as handmade gifts have been party favorites, and the owner herself recently "random act of kindness" gifted me with one of my now favorite mermaid wooden sign...LOVE IT & LOVE THIS LOCAL GEM!

Popular items: Personal photos or artwork of/from a loved one or pet ( yes I have seen pet ‘art’) photo engraved on wood, leather, glass. Wedding gifts of engraved driftwood documenting the momentous occasion (ie Est. date/year) for years to come while adding a unique home accent. Trick or Treat <3

Hello Spooktacular Beings,

Happiest of all Hallows Eve to you, I hope this "Tina Talks Tuesday" blesses you with more treats than tricks. With that said, today I just want to wish you a safe, happy, healthy, fun filled Halloween & share a "healthy" treat recipe with you to try!

Homemade Almond Joy Candy Bars are much healthier and taste just as wonderful as the store-bought version. The coconut center is made with unsweetened shredded coconut, honey, and coconut oil to bind it together. With an almond on top and a chocolate coating, the candy bar is complete. A no-bake treat, these candy bars can be ready in thirty minutes time.

Almond Joy Candy Bars

Yields 1 dozen candy bars

1 cup (90 grams) unsweetened shredded coconut, lightly packed
3 tablespoons coconut oil
2 tablespoons honey (or pure maple syrup)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
12 (or more) whole almonds
4 ounces (110 grams) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

In a food processor, process the shredded coconut, coconut oil, honey, vanilla extract, and salt until it forms a thick paste, about 2-3 minutes. Test the coconut to see if it holds together by squeezing it in your palm. If the coconut is still too loose, continue to process for 1-2 more minutes.

Drop the coconut mixture by the tablespoon onto a non-stick baking mat or parchment paper. Form each ball into a small rectangle by pressing it into formation. Press an almond on top of the coconut rectangles. Freeze the coconut for 15-30 minutes, or until solid.

Melt the chopped chocolate in the microwave in 15 second increments, stirring between each increment until the chocolate is smooth. Skewer each frozen candy bar onto a toothpick and dip into the melted chocolate, tapping off any excess chocolate. Wait for the chocolate to dry before removing from the toothpick.

Serve immediately or store at room temperature for several days (if they last that long).

Day 30!!! :D

Great Evening Beautiful Beings,

My wish is that this blog finds you well, warm, and filled with love and light! <3 Today's "Tina Talks Tuesday" is to give a shout out to all of those who made it to day 30 and beyond...GREAT JOB!!! Feels so good to be alive :0)

My expectation from the start was that this challenge would have a positive outcome and that the rewards for riding this out could only provide health and wealth for the future. Ahh., how sweet it is...my sleep feels natural and restful, no more interrupted restless nights. My energy has increased, and it feels great to substitute productive pursuits over plentiful parting. Today, on day 30, I generally feel healthier, with a clear head, a sense of achievement, and a conscious cautious approach towards alcohol consumption.

In the end, the immeasurable benefits of eliminating alcohol, both mentally and physically from my body, are well worth holding onto. It was interesting experiencing my life in this way, realizing how much more I could accomplish with my weekends and my life, with this "simple" ;) healthy change. Will this keep me from going back to the occasional drink with dinner, happy hour w/ friends, or "oh whata night"... that I will save for another "Tina Talks Tuesday"!?!? What I do know is that "we are always stronger than we believe", and that I can do anything I put my mind and intention into!

   Thanks for joining me this evening. Stay well. Stay Healthy, Salute! And as always comments, questions, suggestions, and good vibes only (GVO) are always welcomed and highly favored! {{{HUGS}}}
